Belated Friday 13th

Its been a good month since friday 13th in january and my lazy self has finally gotten round to putting up a fun post. In pure tattoo tradition, Katie and myself stayed back late at work to tattoo each other with a number 13 of some form. Whilst Katie chose to geek-out with her adapted wrestling style 13, i chose to go down the supernatural route and get the number 13 rune stone ‘Eiwaz’. As always, we had a laugh doing it and are already preparing for the next friday 13th in april! Bring it on!

Catherine

Catherine came into the studio to get a tattoo that holds personal relevance to Catherine and her partner. She’d chosen a scroll with vines and inserted some song lyrics into the scroll part of the design.

David

David came into the studio with a dragon design that he wanted on his upper back. It was a wonderfully fun afternoon and a great tattoo to do.

One of my regulars, Lewis, popped in to see me at the studio, seeking out his next bit of ink. Lewis wanted a Key design to commemorate the start of his relationship with his girlfriend. As always, it was a pleasure to tattoo Lewis and as always, it was a good fun session of laughs and ink.

Jenny

Jenny came into the studio with an idea of incorporating a tiger and stingray into a paw print on her lower back. After drawing something up for her we got her in to view the design. Once Jenny had approved the design, it got stenciled ready for placement. Lots of colour later and we had one happy jenny and a finished tiger paw print tattoo.

George

I’d like everyone to meet George. George came in to the studio with some images and ideas for a Cambodia/Thailand/buddha quarter sleeve. After a good chat to understand what George wanted from her custom tattoo, I used the images she bought in to create a scenic style design with buddha as the main foreground image.

The first sitting was to get all the outline done and get started on the shading. Two weeks later, all healed up, george returned to carry on the shading and get as close to finishing as we could in the time allocated. George will be returning soon for her final sitting and i cant wait.

Maria

Maria has returned with another colourful piece of work for me to do. To go alongside her Ramones tattoos, Maria has picked a cool coloured american style car (i want to say its a coupe, but i know nothing about cars!) To add a personal touch to her tattoo, Maria got her son to write his name in the number plate of the car.

Due to the size of the tattoo, Maria’s design needed to be redrawn and simplified before being stenciled and placed on. As always, Maria sat like a trooper, and now has another tattoo to add to her growing collection inked skin. As always, i have asked maria to pop in for a healed photo, but as ive learnt with Maria, the next time we see her may not be to JUST get some photos. Knowing maria, she’ll probably get some more ink at the same time… ….. and as always, i look forward to it.

Angharad

Angharad popped into the studio looking to get a tattoo on her upper underarm. With her she bought in a feather design that she liked and added a quote to the design. After drawing something up and putting the feather and quote together, we got started. Angharad was awesome to tattoo and a good laugh. I hope you enjoy her tattoo journey through the photos.

Rico

Id like to introduce everyone to Rico. Rico Came into the studio with some images he’d found in a tattoo mag, hoping to get the same images done on each of his forearms. Due to the size of the images and amount of work involved in each piece, it was decided that they should be done one at a time. A few changes were made to the images to make them more personal to Rico and he picked which one he wanted to start with.
Once the stencil was in place, we got started on the outline. In the time available during Rico’s sitting i outlined, shaded and got started on the colour in the tattoo. Cat

Cat came into the studio to get three butterflies tattooed around an older tattoo on her leg. Due to the size of the butterflies, it was possible to create a sense of realism with shading.

It only took a short time before both myself and Cat recognised each other from having lived in the same building last year. All in all it made for a grand experience and a good laugh. Hopefully well see Cat again when she is ready to add more tattoo’s to her growing collection.
