Hey all, im Jo (aka Junkyard Josie), im a tattooist at abody. Throughout my life i have studied art and have always loved tattoos and tattooing. I graduated university with a BA in Fine Art and English Literature. Tattooing has been a passion of mine since i was 16 and i have always found ways to integrate it into my life, now it IS my life. I had my first tattoo when i turned 18, and as always the first is scary, but when you get in the room and get started, its not as bad as people will have you believe. Ive now got quite a collection (not enough though) of tattoos adorning my skin and hope to have many many more.
I find myself influenced by many artists (painters, photographers and tattooists), a few names that come to mind are Andre Miripolsky, Davide Andreoli, Angelique Houtkamp, Shige, Cindy Sherman, Salvadore Dali, Chuey Quintanar, Seth Ciferri and many many more.
For me, art doesnt need to be beautiful or meaningful, it just has to be awesome.
